Despite this, Pastor Rahn continues to serve as a minister of peace, desiring to extend God’s love with every opportunity. One day, during a national celebration, Pastor Rahn prepared to offer tracts and Bibles to those he met. But would people want them? Would these pieces of literature bring hope and relief to his community?
A Rejected Offer
In this town live Siro and Lia with their three children. Like most of their neighbors, the family followed the religion of their forefathers. So, when Pastor Rahn handed Siro a New Testament and some tracts, he met suspicion.
“We are illiterate people, and we do not know how to read and write,” Siro told the pastor. “You better move from our house.”
Pastor Rahn responded with love. “Your daughter can read for you,” he said. “Please just listen. This is not a simple book, but it is the Word of God, and it can change your life as well as all the difficulties that you are facing.” Though still hesitant, Siro accepted the pastor’s offering.
That night, just like many others, Siro suffered from an attack of an evil spirit and woke up shouting at midnight. Distressed and not knowing what to do, his wife wept. But their daughter, Pabla, remembered the words of Pastor Rahn and opened up the New Testament they had received.
Victory Through Christ
Pabla began to read out loud, and as she read, her father shouted, “Don’t read this book!” Her mother, however, encouraged her to continue reading. As Pabla read, the power of the words loosened the hold of the evil spirit. Eventually, the spirit left her father with a loud shout!
Coming to his senses, Siro asked for water and hugged his daughter. He finally felt light and free, and he wanted to learn more. Before going back to bed, the family listened to Pabla read more of the New Testament’s transformative words. Then, they slept.
Siro soon contacted Pastor Rahn and told him of his deliverance by the Word of God. He said, “Last night, we slept peacefully after a long time because of this Word of God.” The family put their trust in Jesus, started attending church and are growing in their faith. Though this family did not know where to look for deliverance, God delivered the key to them through a GFA pastor.
