Prayer Points for July

  1. Bangladesh

    2. GFA's country leader in Bangladesh recently sent the following prayer requests:

    • Last year, Cyclone Sidr hit Bangladesh. We were able to help 1,100 families with relief and shared the hope found in Christ. Pray that the Lord will help the survivors to rebuild their lives.

    • This country is in a political crisis. The military has been ruling Bangladesh the last one and a half years. Pray that the government will not hinder God's work.

    • Pray for the new believers in eight new churches that were started last year. Pray for the new believers to be strong.

  2. Remember Myanmar's Cyclone Survivors.

    3. Although it's been two months since Cyclone Nargis hit Myanmar (Burma), there are still thousands suffering—and hundreds of missionaries working steadily to bring relief and the hope of Jesus.

    • The first shipment of relief supplies was received successfully by GFA workers. Pray that more relief materials shipped into Myanmar will reach the people who desperately need them.

    • Pray for 90 orphans whom GFA has received permission to care for.

  3. Dalits "Reconverting"

    4. In Chhattisgarh, India, Dalit Christians are threatened with the loss of their jobs unless they take part in a public reconversion ceremony, according to the All India Christian Council. These reconversion ceremonies are reported prominently in the news, trying to give the impression that many Dalits are leaving Christianity and to discourage others from becoming Christians.

    • Pray that Dalits who are pressured to leave Christ will cling to His word and not be shaken.

    • Pray for Dalits who do not know Jesus, that propaganda will not dissuade them from choosing to follow the Lord.

  4. Miracles Changing Lives

    5. Sunil Gupta spent hours praying that God would bring his alcoholic father back home. An unexpected visitor appeared at their door, and to Sunil's amazement, his father stood before him promising that he would never drink again.

    • Praise God for the miracles He performs in so many people's lives.

    • Pray that each miracle will bring Him glory and bring many people to know Jesus.
