The South Goa Region
The city of Margao is one of the busiest and fastest-growing cities in the state and a commercial center for South Goa. It is famous for its Portuguese-styled mansions and is home to the Holy Spirit Church, which is situated in the Old Market center of South Goa.
The Cotiago Wildlife Sanctuary is located in this region and gives curious travelers an opportunity to catch glimpses of wild boars, bison, black panthers, sloth bears and other unique creatures.
The warm, tropical climate of South Goa makes it particularly suited for growing a variety of crops, including rice, cashews, coconuts, mangoes and jackfruit.
